"Spending again what is already spent"

Ausgehend von dem 76. Sonett William Shakespeares entstand das Stück "Spending again what is already spent" als Auftragskomposition der Berliner Festspiele 1995 für das Ensemble Musikfabrik NRW. Die Rezitation von Jack Edwards ergab melodische und rhythmische Impulse, die ich verschiedenartig bearbeitet, auf das Ensemble verteilt und nach ausgearbeiteten Zahlenreihen kombiniert habe. Die in konkrete musikalische Motive verwandelten Sprachfetzen repräsentieren eine imaginäre, durch verschiedene Klangfarben beeinflußte Rezitation. Es wurden drei Instrumentalgruppen gebildet, die miteinander korrespondieren bzw. kontrapunktisch gesetzt sind: Holzbläser, Klavier+Horn, Streicher. Jedes Instrument entwickelt einen individuellen Weg durch das Labyrinth des durchbrochenen Sonetts.
